On this project I've worked with senior mechanical engineers, economists, marine experts and even engineers from Australia - and I have learnt a lot from working with such a diverse and experienced team.
My role involved researching the technology on the market and the potential sites for deployment; providing advice to the client; coordinating communication between the teams in the UK and Australia, and communicating back to the client.
The first part of the project was short listed for an Engineering Excellence award from the Association of Consulting Engineers (ACE). I got to go to the awards ceremony along with the rest of the project team and the clients. It was an enjoyable evening for everyone and the project was highly commended. It is very rewarding to have your hard work recognised.
The graduate scheme at PB encourages graduates to develop in the way that they want by choosing the training and experience that are right for each individual. I have already been involved in numerous projects worldwide with a wide range of clients - from small developers to governments and multinational companies. I have much more responsibility on projects than I expected, but as I am surrounded by supportive and knowledgeable colleagues, it isn't a problem.
